Biden’s Inflation Statement

US President Joe Biden stated that oil companies should produce more oil to combat the rising gasoline prices.

In his speech at the White House, Biden called on Congress to suspend the federal gasoline tax for three months until September to combat rising gasoline prices in the country. Biden also invited states to make tax exemptions for a while and called on oil companies.

He also stated that the energy production in the country broke a record, “So the problem is not in oil production. Here, I invite the oil industry to refine more oil. Thus, we can take the burden off the people a bit.”

Biden, who also touched upon the Russia-Ukraine war and included images of the war behind him while speaking, blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for the rising oil prices worldwide.

Pointing out that everyone in the US is united in support of Ukraine, Biden said, “Republicans who criticize me today for the high oil prices in the US, are you now telling me that I was wrong for supporting Ukraine?
