The British economy grew 0.5 percent in May this year.

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss spoke about the new law, which foresees the tightening and expansion of sanctions against Russia in response to its aggressive stance.

Liz Truss said that new measures would allow the UK to act with the US and other allies on asset freezes and travel bans. “If you support Russia’s aggressive actions against Ukraine, we will have the power to sanction you,” Truss said. Minister Truss continued her words by saying that those in and around the Kremlin will have nowhere to hide.

“We will make sure that those who share responsibility for the Kremlin’s aggressive and destabilizing action will be partners in paying a heavy price. Their assets in the UK will be frozen. No UK businesses or individuals will be able to transact with them, and if they try to enter the UK, they will be turned away.”

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov described the UK’s possible new sanctions against Russian companies as “an undisguised attack on the business world.”

“This is a very worrying statement from London, and I think it’s not just for us but for our companies as well,” Peskov said.
