Gas prices rise again in Europe

Gas prices in Europe continue to rise as the cold wave in the North increases demand.

Natural gas prices in Europe have continued to rise since the beginning of the week.

European natural gas indicator Netherlands 1-month natural gas prices increased by 5.9 percent and were traded at 158 euros per megawatt hour. Prices were at their highest level since mid-October yesterday.

The late arrival of winter in Europe caused stocks to increase. Temperatures are expected to remain below average next month.

Europe started to import LNG in record volumes after the decrease in Russia’s gas flow triggered the energy crisis in the region.
