
Gazprom announced that in the first four months of 2022, natural gas exports fell by 26.9 percent, while production decreased by 2.5 percent.
According to Gazprom’s statement, the company’s natural gas production in the first four months of the year decreased by 2.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, to 175.4 billion cubic meters.
In the statement, it was stated that the company’s exports to China increased by 60 percent compared to last year, while the shipments to Europe continued in line with the contracts.
Gazprom, the world’s largest natural gas producer, meets about 40 percent of Europe’s natural gas needs. The company’s net profit rose to 2.1 trillion rubles in 2021, up from 135 billion rubles a year earlier, to the highest level in history.
