Former US President Donald Trump announced that his mansion in Florida was searched by FBI agents yesterday.

“My beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida, is now under siege, raided and occupied by a large group of FBI agents, this is a dark time for our nation.” Trump said in a written statement.

Claiming that FBI agents broke a safe on his property, Trump said, “After work and cooperation with relevant government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home is not necessary or appropriate.”

The FBI raid was said to be related to an investigation into whether Trump obtained classified records at his Florida residence during his term at the White House. According to federal law, the removal of confidential government documents from authorized places by law is prohibited.
