US-Russia Tension in Global Markets

Mutual statements between the USA and Russia on Ukraine increased the tension in the global markets.

With the US-Russia tension and the Fed tightening expectations to dominate again, there is an exit from risky assets on the last trading day of the week. US and European stock futures point to a declining opening.

S&P 500 futures fell 0.6 percent and Euro Stoxx 50 fell 1.6 percent. On the Nasdaq 100, on the other hand, futures signal a sharper decline with 1.2 percent.

In Asia Pacific, all major Stock Exchanges are negative. Japan’s Nikkei 225 lost 1.4 percent, Hong Kong Hang Seng 0.8 percent and Chinese CSI 300 0.9 percent.

U.S. 10-year bond yields fell below 1.80 percent with risk-off purchases on bonds.
